Pumpkin Patch
A fall event that a number of Dallas-Fort Worth families have made an annual tradition is visiting a pumpkin patch. Fortunately, there are several to choose from. One of the biggest is the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm, which is located at Gunter’s Preston Trail Farms, 52 miles north of Dallas. For $10, pumpkin lovers get to enjoy the hay maze, the roping pen, a hayride, and feed for animals in the petting barn. This pumpkin patch is open from Sept. 26-Nov. 25. Wine Tours
Many Texans also enjoy taking in wine tours during the fall, and ECS Transportation Group can provide transportation for these as well. The appropriately named Grapevine, which is 23 miles from both Dallas and Fort Worth, is at the epicenter of the local wine industry. Casino Tours
Casino tours are another of the fall events in Dallas that are been gaining in popularity. Most gamblers make the short trip across the Oklahoma border as there are no casinos in the Lone Star State. WinStar World Casinos, which is 81 miles north of Dallas, is the world’s largest; it has 370,000 square feet of casino floor space. Just a little further, at 91 miles away, is Choctaw Casinos & Resorts. Its 219,000 square feet of gaming space provides plenty of gambling opportunities as well. Another option is heading to Louisiana, but casinos in the Shreveport-Bossier City area are more than twice as far: 188 miles.
Fall Sports
When many think of fall events in Dallas, the Cowboys initially come to mind, and we provide a way for you to go to AT&T Stadium in style. Meanwhile, fans of the college game have three primary options in the metroplex: the North Texas Mean Green, the SMU Mustangs, and the TCU Horned Frogs. The Red River Showdown, which is played at the Cotton Bowl, attracts large crowds on an annual basis as well. The fall is also traditionally when the basketball and hockey seasons start. Several of those in the Dallas-Fort Worth area support the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and the NHL’s Dallas Stars.
